Episode Notes
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.
I got my first tattoo in Washington. My friend, Doreen, is the Queen of Tattoos, a walking gallery of flesh made art.
When I told her I wanted a detailed scallop shell and the words “Buen Camino” in script across the mid-line of my left foot she cringed. The foot is highly sensitive, especially along the bones. But I wanted what I wanted.
Like a true friend, Doreen had a plan: we go together, I don’t look at the artist, I pretend the sound of the tattoo gun is white noise, and the sensation of the needle is nothing more than vibration.
I have a fine tattoo and a lesson: pain is often a matter of perspective. And, if you can share it with a friend, it’s borne twice as well.
This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories – stay for the magic. Speaking of magic, would you share a nice rating/review on iTunes.
