60 Seconds: Like a Monarch Butterfly – A Whole New You.
by Diane Wyzga | October 28, 2020 | 60 Seconds, Podcast | 0 comments
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.
My honeybee wrangler and friend, Janet Andrews, of Backyard Bees sets out large glass jars with a branch and milkweed leaves inside to invite the caterpillar that will become the Monarch butterfly.
The Monarch larva spins a silk mat from which it hangs upside down, a stage called a chrysalis. When complete the silk looks like jade with beads of gold.
Question: How are you like a Monarch butterfly-to-be? As you continue to make your way into a changing world know that you, too, are ever-creating a new shape for who you will be and how you will be it. If you don’t believe me, click here to watch this lovely time lapse (Filmed by Neil Bromhall.Copyright Neil Bromhall) and see how the Monarch does it.
