60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: Mindfulness Practices to Lighten & Brighten Your Day

Hello to you listening in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China!
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday.
In contemporary Buddhist practice, as derived from the Zen (and Theravādin) traditions by my teacher Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, a “gatha” is a verse usually recited mentally in rhythm with the breath as part of one’s daily mindfulness practice.
Here’s one for Waking Up:
Waking up this morning, I smile.
Twenty-four brand new hours are before me.
I vow to live fully in each moment
and to look at all beings with the eyes of compassion.
And here’s another for Walking Meditation:
The mind can go in a thousand directions.
But on this beautiful path, I walk in peace.
With each step, a gentle wind blows.
With each step, a flower blooms.
Question: What practice lightens and brightens your day?
