Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.
So far back in time I don’t remember when my mom and dad started an Easter Egg Hunt tradition. Dad filled bags of plastic eggs with jelly beans, foil wrapped chocolate eggs, and coins, mostly pennies and nickels but there was the occasional quarter and maybe even a folded dollar bill. He squirreled away close to 200 eggs around the house, in the yards, and wherever he thought we might not look.
When some of the kids were still quite young dad would say, “Have you tried over there?” Not showing them where the eggs were hidden but giving a hint of how to proceed.
Dad reminds me: “The best teachers show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.” [Alexandra K. Trenfor]
