60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: When in Doubt Look Up and Out to See Differently

Hello to you listening in Milan, Italy!
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories from Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.
Here on Whidbey cleaning house gutters is a regular event. From up here on the roof of my house the whole neighborhood looks different. This bird’s-eye view reveals what I can’t see with my feet on the ground below.
Up on the roof is a good way to escape from the everyday and pretend, much as you might have as a child climbing trees, finding a secret space, creating a fantasy world between you and the sky. I know I’m up here to clean the gutters but it’s also where I get an insight into a difficult situation, an answer that’s been eluding me, or even the Ah Ha! of a new idea.
Practical Tip: You don’t have to climb up on the roof to become inspired. Maybe there is a balcony, a hill, a tree you can perch in; or, close your eyes and imagine you are in a safe space between the ground and the sky inviting the perfect answer to your doubts. When we look up and out we see differently. This shift in perspective rewards our view with answers. Guaranteed!
