60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: What to Do While Waiting on the Cosmic Chef?

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

As some of you know I’ve been wandering around in the Desert of Creative Drought. I feel a deep sense of groundlessness, uncertainty. Maybe you recognize this, too, when the Shadow Side is upon us, when it appears as if the rest of the world is marching along just fine without any sense of fear, anxiety, discomfort, or disconnect.

So, what’s a gal to do? Maybe I begin by agreeing to sit with the Shadow Side, invite it to teach me about what I don’t know. Perhaps, the Cosmic Chef is still working on my order.

Think about it: when you dine out and place your order with the waiter you expect that – unless she returns and says we are out of the item you want – the chef is preparing your order and in due time it will arrive at the table.

Yes, I’ve placed a pretty tall order with the Cosmic Chef. I have to trust she’s on it! Meanwhile, I have something to learn about sitting it out until she’s ready to serve it up.
