60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: What Horse Threw You? Get Back On!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with questions carefully chosen to help you collect stories in the oral tradition or spark your own writing. Either way, you’ll say, “Thanks for the memories.”
Hollywood’s western movies rode out onto the silver screen in the 1930s becoming the most popular film genre of the 20th Century until coming up a little lame in the 1960s. Westerns were known the world over. I remember being asked by a little boy when I was backpacking through England, “Miss, do you have Indians in your garden?” As if.
We say “Get back on the horse that threw you!” but what does it mean? Where did it come from? It’s a relic of the influence of western movies. Depending on the horse that threw you it could mean figure it out, get back up, stick with something you had difficulty with or maybe failed at but still holds promise.
Story Prompt: What’s the horse you want to get back on? Share that story?
Practice Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story.
This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories – stay for the magic.
