I was thinking about the song after a friend turned out to be other than what I thought. Her betrayal was pretty big. Now what? Give a second chance? Suck it up? Ask again for the apology that didn’t come?

Healthy boundaries begin with naming and claiming what’s right and healthy for you. When we choose from clarity, confidence and compassion instead of raw emotion we can create a sense of inner peace and even growth from a sad or disappointing event.

If respect is no longer being served at the table where you’re sitting, you can choose to stay or go.

Story Prompt: Think of a time you surprised yourself by summoning the grit to go because there was nothing left to stay for. Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story.
