Episode Notes
Hello to you listening in Denver, Colorado!
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.
The Internet abounds with motivational quotes! You want to be motivated? There’s a quote for every situation!
But what is motivation? Motivation is just a word for drive to achieve something: a goal, an end, a result.
What makes motivation important in our lives? Motivation helps us stay on track, shift out of old habits, solve problems, seek new opportunities.
How do we become motivated? Practical Tip: Set yourself one achievable goal. Give yourself a time frame. Break your goal into smaller tasks with reminders about how you can accomplish each task on a schedule. Share your aspiration with trusted friends or family and invite their support.
How do we sustain our motivation? Practical Tip: Everyone falters; it’s only human. Notice when you slip backward. Revisit your goal. Remind yourself of what you want, of the progress you’ve already made, how far you’ve come. Is the goal still viable? If so, agree to take it one day at time because we can sustain for one day what might seem daunting for a lifetime. Guaranteed!
