As much as I try to be an easygoing, stretch your wings and fly type, I just can’t stop trying to burst people into flames with my mind.

What sets me off? Something someone said or did which I perceive as an insult, a slight, an affront. We hear this all this time: Take nothing personally; the stuff that folks say and do by and large has nothing to do with you. Yes, true, and their “stuff” triggers our insecurities. What happens next? Meltdown!

Practical Tip: When you are tempted to take something personally, step back, give it some breathing room because most likely whatever was said or done is of their making and not yours.
