Episode Notes
Hello to you listening in Durango, Colorado!
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.
Is it just me or is the media still asking if it’s okay to be a woman and express confidence? What’s up with that nonsense?
Here me when I say this: Yes, it’s okay. It’s better than okay. It’s required! Yet, we wait for permission.
I waited my turn, too. As an incest survivor I heard, “Be quiet. No one will believe you. You are a liar.”
So I was quiet until I learned that didn’t work either. I looked for ways to grow my confidence: art therapy; teachers, friends and colleagues who heard me; competing in Moot Court during law school and winning top prize; trying on one voice and then another until I found the heart of my voice which led me to the heart of my message.
Did it happen over night? Not a chance! Was it easy? No way! But here’s the thing: no matter when and how you begin growing your confidence, it’s a start. A start is all you need.
Question: Let’s do this together! Let’s show them what a woman’s confidence sounds like! Who’s all in?
